What you'll do: The RPA Developer will play a critical role in building Customers Bank's enterprise automation capability from the ground up. This is an exciting opportunity to join at the earliest stage of our automation journey and help shape how intelligent automation is designed, delivered, and scaled across the organization.
Operating within a cross-functional delta team model, the RPA Developer will partner directly with business stakeholders to eliminate manual work, improve operational efficiency, and enable scalable, resilient automation solutions. The role combines hands-on delivery with automation design and standards development, sitting at the intersection of operations, technology, data, and AI.
This position sits within the data and strategy organization and contributes directly to high-visibility initiatives tied to operational efficiency, automation, and AI enablement.
- Lead end-to-end automation initiatives-from process discovery and requirements definition through design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support-ensuring solutions deliver measurable business outcomes.
- Design, build, test, deploy, and support enterprise-grade automation solutions using UiPath and Power Automate, with Python or C# leveraged where appropriate.
- Partner directly with business SMEs to understand workflows, identify automation opportunities, challenge inefficient processes, and translate business requirements into durable technical solutions.
- Automate a wide range of processes, including: Structured and semi-structured workflows, Human-in-the-loop automations, Exception handling and decision-based flows, and Multi-system integrations, reconciliations, and regulatory or operational reporting processes
- Develop attended, hybrid, and unattended automations operating in event-driven, near-real-time, and batch/scheduled modes.
- Leverage AI and LLM capabilities to enhance automation effectiveness, including intelligent document processing, decision support, orchestration, and workflow augmentation.
- Design and promote reusable automation patterns, components, and standards to support enterprise-scale adoption and long-term maintainability.
- Ensure automations are secure, resilient, well-documented, and production-ready, aligned with governance, audit, and regulatory expectations.
- Monitor automation performance, troubleshoot incidents, and continuously optimize deployed solutions.
- Mentor and support junior RPA resources as the automation function grows.
- Stay current on emerging automation, AI, and orchestration technologies and best practices, bringing relevant innovations into the organization where appropriate.
What do you need? - 4+ years of experience in RPA or intelligent automation, with a demonstrated track record of delivering production automations end-to-end in complex enterprise environments.
- Hands-on experience with UiPath and/or Power Automate in production environments.
- Experience automating multi-system workflows, including exception handling and reconciliation-style processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to challenge inefficient processes-not just automate them.
- Comfort working directly with business stakeholders and senior leaders.
- Ability to balance execution speed with quality, governance, and sustainability.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Math, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). Advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
Technical Skills - Strong experience with UiPath (Studio, Orchestrator, queues, credentials) and/or Power Automate.
- Proficiency in Python for automation extensions, scripting, or integration logic.
- Experience with APIs, file-based integrations, and multi-application workflows.
- Familiarity with event-driven and scheduled automation patterns.
- Exposure to LLMs, AI services, or intelligent document processing is strongly preferred.
