Job Title: QA Automation Engineer / QA Automation Analyst 3

Texas Health and Human Services Commission is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer / QA Automation Analyst 3 responsible for developing and maintaining manual and automated test scripts. The candidate will work in an Agile/Scrum environment to ensure high-quality software releases through effective test planning, automation, defect tracking, and collaboration with development teams.
Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases.
Create test plans, test strategies, and UAT test cases aligned with business requirements.
Perform API testing using Postman, SOAPUI, JMeter, or similar tools.
Develop automation scripts using UFT.
Write SQL queries (CRUD operations) to validate data.
Log, track, and manage defects using Jira.
Manage test cases and traceability using Xray Test Management tool.
Perform different testing types: unit, integration, regression, smoke, system, performance, and UAT.
Maintain requirements traceability matrix and test execution reports.
Work closely with Agile/Scrum teams to support sprint releases and troubleshoot defects.
8+ years of QA testing experience.
Strong knowledge of SDLC, test case design, and usability testing.
Hands-on experience with UFT automation scripting.
Experience with Jira and Xray.
Strong SQL knowledge (CRUD operations).
Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, SOAPUI, or JMeter.
Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
Experience with accessibility testing (WCAG 2.1 AA).
Prior experience working with Texas HHSC systems.
