Role: SAP FICO Consultant
Key Responsibilities:
Key Objectives & Deliverables
The consultant will be accountable for the following outcomes:
- SAP FI-CO Master Data Assessment & Optimization
- Support existing effort led by FP&A to streamline and align financial reporting, including COGS reporting
- Recommend and implement SAP best-practice structures aligned with business needs; must have expert-level knowledge of how SAP FI-CO objects are used and ability to help the team design a scalable solution for FI-CO master data while meeting financial reporting needs
- Provide master data governance guidance and support rolling out a proper process
2. Cost Accounting System Enhancements & Process Improvements
- Analyze end-to-end finance and costing processes
- Gather business requirements, pain points and needs from Cost Accounting team
- Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
- Propose and implement optimized solutions aligned with SAP best practices and accounting policies
Leverage newest SAP features and capabilities related to Cost Accounting and Fiori apps (e.g., Material Ledger, actual costing, reporting improvements, co-product costing/joint production experience)
3. Business Partnership & Solution Design
- Work closely with Finance and business stakeholders
- Rapidly learn business processes and accounting policies
- Translate business requirements into scalable SAP FI-CO solutions
4. Knowledge Transfer & Enablement
- Actively train and mentor internal team members
- Provide documentation, design rationale, and configuration guidance
- Ensure internal team can support and sustain solutions post-engagement
Required Consultant Profile
- Expert-level experience in SAP FI-CO, with deep Cost Accounting knowledge
- Experience working with manufacturing and laboratory/life sciences companies
- Strong hands-on SAP experience with Material Ledger, various costing methodologies, COGS drivers & reporting, cost accounting reporting and process optimizations with S/4HANA 2023 (or similar version) and Fiori
- Proven track record delivering SAP finance transformations or optimization projects
- Ability to operate independently, define and drive solutions, while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and business audiences
- Experience in training and enabling internal teams
- Knowledge of OneStream capabilities a plus

- Successful implementation of Cost Accounting enhancements
- Documented best practices and solutions adopted by the internal team
- Internal team trained and confident in ongoing support and future enhancements
