Summary

 
Job Title: Business Analyst   Pension / Retirement Systems
Location: Brooklyn, NY (Hybrid 2 Days Onsite per Week)
Duration: 30-Month Contract
Work Week: 40 hours (no overtime)
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the key liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams for pension-related initiatives.
  • Analyze current workflows and develop comprehensive  As-Is  and  To-Be  process documentation.
  • Gather, document, and validate business, functional, and system requirements for pension administration systems.
  • Develop BRDs, FRDs, Use Cases, User Stories, and Process Diagrams using tools like MS Visio.
  • Facilitate JAD sessions, stakeholder workshops, and UAT testing for new releases.
  • Support QA, define test plans, and track defect resolution.
  • Ensure improvements align with agency objectives for member benefits processing, retirement calculations, and workflow automation.
  • Work with project managers to plan milestones and manage scope across multiple concurrent projects.

Required Skills and Experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst within IT / systems projects.
  • Proven experience with SDLC (Waterfall and/or Agile) methodologies.
  • Strong requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to analyze and improve processes related to benefits, eligibility, payroll integration, or data migration.
  • Hands-on experience in Pension, Retirement, or Benefits Administration Systems.
  • Knowledge of mainframe environments, workflow development, or automation tools.
  • Familiarity with data modeling, SQL, or system integration testing.
  • Experience handling production support and diagnosing functional issues.
Additional Details
  • Local candidates only (onsite interviews required).
  • Must be available to work two days per week onsite at the Brooklyn, NY office.
  • 40-hour work week; no overtime allowed.
