Role Summary
Seeking an experienced Senior ServiceNow Developer with specialized expertise in Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and IT Asset Management (ITAM) to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of ServiceNow asset management solutions. This role involves configuring discovery capabilities, CMDB architecture, and asset lifecycle workflows to ensure efficient asset management, compliance, and security standards. The developer will collaborate across departments to deliver scalable, enterprise grade asset management systems that align with industry best practices and IT governance frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement comprehensive ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and IT Asset Management (ITAM) solutions tailored to organizational needs.
  • Configure and optimize ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and auto-discovery processes for on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Build and maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) architecture, including CI relationships, data models, and reconciliation rules.
  • Develop and sustain workflows, business rules, UI policies, and client scripts to streamline HAM processes.
  • Manage asset lifecycle workflows covering procurement, deployment, maintenance, and retirement of hardware assets.
  • Configure and optimize discovery patterns, probes, and sensors for accurate hardware inventory collection.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects and IT teams to develop CMDB strategies, data standards, and governance policies.
  • Integrate ServiceNow with third-party tools (procurement, monitoring, cloud platforms) via REST/SOAP APIs and Integration Hub.
  • Perform CMDB health assessments, conduct data quality audits, and implement normalization and reconciliation strategies.
  • Support reporting and dashboard development utilizing ServiceNow Performance Analytics and reporting tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 12+ years of professional experience, including 7-10 years of ServiceNow development and administration.
  • At least 5+ years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow HAM and ITAM modules.
  • Expert proficiency in ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and CMDB configuration.
  • Strong scripting skills using JavaScript, Glide Script, business rules, and script includes.
  • Proven experience in implementing auto-discovery solutions across diverse environments (Windows, Linux, network devices, cloud infrastructure).
  • Deep understanding of CMDB data models, CI relationship management, and reconciliation engines.
  • Experience with ServiceNow Integration Hub, REST/SOAP APIs, and data imports.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification required; additional certifications such as CIS-Discovery, CIS-HAM are highly preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication skills for clear stakeholder engagement and team collaboration.
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as ITIL, ISO 19770, ISO 27001, SOC 2.

Publishing Pay Range: $70.00 - $75.00 hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
