Job Summary:
We are seeking an AWS Cloud Security Engineer Mid to drive the stability, scalability, and security of cloud-based networks and software systems. The selected candidate will perform system integration, verification, validation, and operational support while ensuring reliable operations and proactive security monitoring of distributed cloud environments.
The role requires conducting functional analysis, trade studies, and interface definition for hardware and software specifications, as well as identifying opportunities for improvement in existing frameworks, tools, and processes.
The candidate will work closely with engineering and security teams to ensure systems functionality, performance, and secure configurations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the stability, scalability, and security of cloud-based networks and software systems.
- Perform system integration, verification, validation, and operational support for cloud systems.
- Monitor and maintain the health of distributed cloud environments and virtual machines (VMs).
- Develop and implement proactive engineering and security mechanisms to maintain system reliability.
- Conduct functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, and requirements allocation.
- Define interfaces and specifications for hardware and software systems.
- Utilize system metrics and performance trends to identify opportunities for improvement in frameworks, tools, processes, and security posture.
- Troubleshoot system and configuration issues, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with security standards.
- Support the design and implementation of cloud security controls, monitoring, and risk mitigation strategies.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in cloud security engineering, cloud systems administration, or related technical roles.
- Solid understanding of AWS cloud environments and distributed systems.
- Experience with virtualization, cloud infrastructure, and cloud security practices.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional engineering and security teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with AWS security services such as IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, Security Hub, and CloudTrail.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, compliance standards, and cloud security best practices.
- Experience with scripting, automation, or orchestration tools for security and cloud operations.
- Knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle concepts, including integration, verification, and validation.
Certifications:
- IAT Level II certification required.
- At least one cloud certification (AWS, OCI, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) required.
