Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to oversee the operations, security, and scalability of a multi-tenant healthcare platform hosted in AWS GovCloud. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in healthcare technology environments, AWS cloud architecture, and cybersecurity frameworks.
This role will be responsible for ensuring secure, compliant, and highly available cloud infrastructure while managing platform operations, security governance, and regulatory compliance in a HIPAA-compliant environment.
The candidate must possess strong experience in AWS cloud operations, healthcare regulatory compliance, and enterprise cybersecurity practices, along with relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional (or equivalent) and CISSP.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Management
- Manage and optimize the AWS GovCloud infrastructure supporting the healthcare platform.
- Oversee multi-tenant architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, and tenant isolation.
- Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud architectures and operational frameworks.
- Monitor system performance, uptime, and cost optimization across AWS services.
Security & Compliance
- Implement and manage cybersecurity controls aligned with HIPAA, NIST, and FedRAMP standards.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare data protection requirements including PHI/PII safeguards.
- Lead security incident response, vulnerability management, and threat monitoring.
- Manage security tools including SIEM, IAM, endpoint security, encryption, and logging frameworks.
Governance & Risk Management
- Establish and maintain security governance frameworks and policies.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and security audits.
- Ensure adherence to industry security best practices and regulatory standards.
Platform Operations & Reliability
- Oversee DevOps, infrastructure automation, and platform deployment pipelines.
- Implement high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
- Maintain monitoring frameworks using tools such as CloudWatch, GuardDuty, Security Hub, etc.
Team Leadership & Vendor Coordination
- Lead and mentor infrastructure, cloud, and security engineers.
- Coordinate with development teams, compliance teams, and external security auditors.
- Manage relationships with AWS, cybersecurity vendors, and compliance consultants.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain architecture documentation, security policies, and operational procedures.
- Provide leadership with regular reports on platform performance, security posture, and compliance status.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- 8 12 years of experience in IT infrastructure, cloud, or cybersecurity roles.
- Minimum 4 5 years of experience managing AWS cloud environments.
- Proven experience working in healthcare technology environments handling PHI/PII data.
- Experience managing multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
- Strong knowledge of AWS GovCloud architecture and security practices.
- Expertise in cloud security, IAM, encryption, network security, and incident response.
Required Certifications
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional (or AWS DevOps Professional)
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
