Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado (Onsite)

This position will perform duties concentrating on early-phase activities of the Systems-Engineering Development Lifecycle. The role involves leading the development of new system concepts by transforming stakeholder needs into reviewable technical approaches. The successful candidate will work as a member of an Agile Scrum team in a professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of new system concepts by transforming stakeholder needs into technical approaches.
- Perform requirements elicitation and decomposition using behavioral artifacts like use cases, activity diagrams, and sequence diagrams.
- Lead the development of physical and logical system models using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches and tools.
- Lead system interface development, as captured in Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Interface Design Descriptions (IDDs).
- Support formal and informal engineering technical reviews.
- Create, review, and critique interface documents, system requirements, verification documentation, architectural documentation, and engineering estimates.
- Interface with key stakeholders, including customers and working-level counterparts.
- Participate in Agile development planning and execution, including iteration planning and status reporting.
Required Qualifications
Education: An advanced degree with 3+ years of experience or a bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience or equivalent.
Experience: Must have wide application of principles, theories, and concepts in the field and provide solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. The candidate must have Systems Engineering/Architecture with Test Experience.
Technical Skills: Experience with MBSE approaches and tools (e.g., Cameo, SysMOD, OOSEM). Familiarity with RBAC, Java, or Groovy is also required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems engineers.
- Experience regularly interacting with customers for elicitation of needs and requirements.
- Experience with one or more elements of the Missile Defense System.
- Experience with elements involved in Space Defense, Space Domain Awareness, or other Space Missions.
- Experience with complex Command and Control Systems.
- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate technical content.
- Ability to support urgent tasks without a loss of efficiency.
