QA Automation Engineer / Test Automation Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer with strong experience in test automation, API testing, and CI/CD practices to support quality assurance initiatives in the banking and financial services domain. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in automation frameworks, scripting, and DevOps integration, ensuring reliable and scalable automated testing across web and API applications.

Key Responsibilities

Test Automation Development

• Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks using Selenium, Karate, and other automation tools.

• Create automated test scripts using JavaScript, Java, or Python.

• Automate web applications and APIs for functional, regression, and integration testing.

• Ensure test scripts are reusable, maintainable, and scalable.

API Testing

• Perform API automation testing using tools such as Karate, Postman, or REST clients.

• Validate API responses, payload structures, and authentication mechanisms.

• Integrate API tests into automated pipelines.

CI/CD & DevOps Integration

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Git, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.

• Support continuous testing within DevOps environments.

• Ensure automated tests run as part of build and deployment pipelines.

Database Testing

• Perform data validation and verification using SQL queries.

• Validate backend data consistency between applications and databases.

Banking Domain Testing

• Validate banking workflows such as payments, transactions, customer accounts, and financial integrations.

• Ensure compliance with banking standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements.

Collaboration & Quality Assurance

• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and DevOps teams to ensure quality deliverables.

• Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.

• Identify automation opportunities and improve test coverage.

Required Skills

Technical Skills

• Strong experience in Selenium WebDriver automation

• Programming experience in Java, Python, or JavaScript

• API testing experience using Karate framework or REST API tools

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

• Strong SQL skills for database validation

• Experience in test framework design and maintenance

• Knowledge of Git version control systems

Domain Knowledge

• Experience in Banking or Financial Services applications

• Understanding of payment systems, transactions, and financial workflows

Preferred Skills

• Experience with BDD frameworks (Karate / Cucumber)

• Experience with Docker or containerized environments

• Knowledge of performance testing tools

• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure)

Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

• 4+ years experience in QA automation or software testing

Nice to Have

• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments

• Experience with test reporting and monitoring tools

• Knowledge of security testing in banking applications
