RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Allen, TX that is seeking an Automation Engineer.
Responsibilities:
* Own Catalog Item design, Flow Designer workflows, Request/Change workflows, and automation orchestration
* Build and maintain integrations to Ansible Tower/AWX, CMDB, and provisioning systems (via REST, webhooks, MID Server)
* Improve CMDB data accuracy related to data center CIs and support automated CI updates/relationships
* Implement automation around change evidence, approvals, notifications, and standardized fulfillment
* Develop and maintain Ansible roles and playbooks supporting OS provisioning, configuration baselines, patch automation, compliance, and remediation
* Manage Ansible Tower/AWX: templates, workflows, credentials, RBAC, and multi-environment pipelines
* Implement structured Dev ? Test ? Prod automation workflows, version control, and proper testing before deployment
* Build workflow automations for documentation, approvals, evidence collection, SOP lifecycle, and team collaboration
* Develop intermediate-level Power Automate flows using REST/Graph APIs (not just simple drag-and-drop flows)
* Maintain structured SharePoint libraries with metadata, retention policies, and automated organization
* Implement automated testing for playbooks/workflows (linting, syntax validation, dry-run, environment testing)
* Use Git-based pipelines for version control, peer review, and deployment of automation code and catalog items
* Ensure rollback capability, auditability, and safe deployment practices aligned with change management
* Convert manual runbooks into reusable automation.
* Build dashboards, logs, and job monitors for Ansible and ServiceNow flows
* Partner with SMEs to identify, prioritize, and implement new automation opportunities
REQUIREMENTS:
* 5-8+ years of experience in infrastructure operations or automation in a data center or large enterprise environment
* Proficiency in PowerShell and/or Python for scripting and API-based automation
* Familiarity with Git version control, Agile, standard SDLC practices
* Excellent documentation habits (SOPs, runbooks, workflow diagrams)
* Strong communicator-able to work with senior engineers, PMs, and support teams
* Ability to translate manual tasks into well-defined automation requirements
* Strong problem-solving mindset and ownership of end-to-end automation outcomes
Strong experience with:
* ServiceNow: Catalog/Flows, Integrations, CMDB, REST APIs, basic scripting
* Ansible: YAML, roles, inventories, Ansible Tower/AWX administration
* Power Automate + SharePoint automation at intermediate depth (REST/Graph experience preferred)
Experience with:
* Core Automation Stack
* ServiceNow (ITSM, CMDB, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub)
* Ansible & Ansible Tower/AWX
* SharePoint Online + Power Automate
* Windows Server, RHEL, VMware/Hyper-V
* Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
* Monitoring/logging systems (Splunk, Dynatrace, etc.)
* Scripting & APIs
* PowerShell, Python
* REST/Graph APIs
* Git, CI/CD pipelines
Solid foundations in:
* Windows/Linux
* Virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V)
* Networking basics (DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
* Authentication/RBAC
Preferred Qualifications:
* ServiceNow CSA or CIS certification
* Red Hat Ansible certification
* Experience with monitoring/logging platforms
* Exposure to DCIM, backup systems, or compliance frameworks (CIS/STIG)
* ITIL Foundation
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
