Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Analyst with 1–3 years of experience to support accurate and timely payroll processing. The ideal candidate will have experience with U.S. payroll, payroll reconciliation, employee data, payroll reporting, and HRIS/payroll systems.

The Payroll Analyst will work closely with Payroll, Human Resources, Finance, and Benefits teams to identify and resolve payroll issues, maintain accurate employee records, and ensure payroll data is processed correctly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support regular weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll processing.
  • Review and validate employee payroll data, including hours, earnings, deductions, bonuses, and adjustments.
  • Perform payroll reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Research and resolve employee payroll issues in a timely manner.
  • Process payroll adjustments, retroactive payments, corrections, and off-cycle payments.
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll and compensation information.
  • Review payroll deductions for benefits, taxes, garnishments, and retirement contributions.
  • Assist with new-hire, termination, transfer, and employee status changes.
  • Prepare and maintain payroll reports for HR, Finance, and management.
  • Support payroll audits and month-end and year-end payroll activities.
  • Assist with W-2, W-4, and other payroll-related reporting.
  • Work with payroll vendors and internal teams to resolve system or processing issues.
  • Validate payroll data between HRIS, payroll, and financial systems.
  • Maintain payroll documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Handle sensitive employee and payroll information with a high level of confidentiality.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in payroll, payroll analysis, HRIS, accounting, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of U.S. payroll processes, taxes, deductions, and compliance.
  • Experience with payroll reconciliation and data validation.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, and basic data analysis.
  • Experience working with payroll or HRIS systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling employee information.

Technical Skills

Experience with one or more of the following systems is preferred:

  • Oracle HCM
  • Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with U.S. multi-state payroll.
  • Understanding of federal, state, and local payroll taxes.
  • Experience with 401(k), benefits deductions, garnishments, and other payroll deductions.
  • Experience supporting payroll audits and reconciliations.
  • Exposure to payroll integrations between HRIS, payroll, and financial systems.
  • Experience preparing payroll reports and analyzing payroll data.
  • Basic knowledge of payroll compliance and year-end processes.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
