Pay Range: - Max $41/hr on w2

Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Testing Technician to support material characterization and reliability testing for battery product applications. This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in mechanical testing, stress-strain analysis, and thin layer materials who enjoy working in a lab environment and collaborating with engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities
Material Characterization & Mechanical Testing

  • Execute comprehensive mechanical and reliability testing using specialized equipment
  • Perform stress-strain and tensile testing on thin layer materials
  • Design and implement mechanical test protocols for real-world use cases
  • Identify and evaluate material properties impacting performance and reliability
  • Generate detailed test reports documenting results and observations

Data Collection & Analysis
  • Collect, organize, and validate mechanical testing data
  • Analyze datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and performance insights
  • Document findings clearly for engineering and cross-functional teams

Sample Preparation & Testing Operations
  • Prepare test samples following established procedures and quality standards
  • Maintain detailed documentation to ensure repeatability and accuracy

Collaboration & Communication
  • Work closely with development and engineering teams to refine test approaches
  • Communicate technical results and their impact on product performance
  • Contribute to test planning and quality documentation
  • Deliver accurate results with exceptional attention to detail

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in mechanical and reliability testing
  • Hands-on experience with material characterization equipment (e.g., Instron, electropulse)
  • Experience performing stress-strain and tensile testing
  • Preferred experience testing thin layer / thin film materials
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel between local testing sites as required
