Location: Irvine, California (Onsite)
Role Overview
This position supports a new project to rebuild and modernize a company's software stack. The role involves transitioning parts of the software architecture to Rust and leveraging emerging technologies like Digital Twin concepts and new messaging frameworks. The work includes supporting a new software development methodology centered on AI-assisted development, requiring the ability to review, validate, and improve AI-generated code.
Key Responsibilities
- Designs, modifies, and implements complex embedded software solutions for onboard data distribution, messaging infrastructure, and platform services.
- Defines, implements, and manages onboard messaging topology using Zenoh and related data-centric messaging technologies.
- Configures and optimizes data distribution paths based on system constraints and performance needs.
- Codes, integrates, tests, debugs, and refines software to produce scalable, reliable, and maintainable platform solutions.
- Develops tooling to visualize, troubleshoot, and validate messaging topology, data flows, and system state.
- Enables observability through telemetry, tracing, metrics, and service health reporting.
- Reviews, evaluates, and analyzes system designs, interfaces, and data flow requirements.
- Prepares and reviews interface documentation, specifications, and test plans.
- Documents designs in engineering documents, including functional block diagrams and data models.
- Provides technical guidance to other engineers and support personnel.
Required Qualifications
Education: A bachelor's degree in computer science is required.
Experience: 3-5 years of relevant software development experience is required.
Technical Skills:- Experience in C/C++, Golang, or Rust development.
- Experience developing software under Linux in embedded or resource-constrained environments.
- Experience with data-centric distributed messaging systems such as Zenoh, DDS, or MQTT.
- Understanding of distributed systems principles, including reliability, scalability, and fault tolerance.
- Experience working with structured data models and system state modeling.
- Understanding of secure data distribution and software security practices.
Certifications: AI based SDLC certification and Rust certification are required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Golang and Rust experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with digital twin concepts and system state modeling is desirable.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals such as TCP/UDP/IP is helpful.
- Familiarity with containers, virtualization, or Docker is desirable.
- Experience with DevOps CI/CD pipelines and GitLab.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- In-Flight Entertainment domain knowledge and system development experience is a plus.
