In the role of the Senior Engineering Project Manager for the Water Business Group, we'll count on you to:

  • Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of large multidisciplinary projects or medium-sized projects with a high degree of technical complexity, typically involving a large project staff
  • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently
  • Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings
  • Coordinate staffing and workload of staff through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule
  • Conduct schematic, design development, and contract document work sessions at project sites in conjunction with other Project Managers, appropriate technical professionals, and other disciplines
  • Work with the Business/Accounting Managers, Project Coordinators and Department Manager or Managing Principal for project reviews
  • Implement QA/QC procedures and execute training for personnel as established
  • Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings
  • Conduct schematic, design development, and contract document work sessions at project sites in conjunction with Project Managers, appropriate technical professionals, and other disciplines
  • Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with the team to ensure that work is completed within the parameters of the agreed-upon scope, schedule and budget
  • Supervise project staff and act as a mentor for less-experienced Project Managers
  • Work with internal and external resources to put together contract drawings and documents in accordance with HDR's quality standards
  • Manage construction phase services such as submittal, shop drawing, and RFI review, coordination, and correspondence
  • Manage technical components of pursuits and work with the marketing team to produce high-quality pursuit documents
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 10 years related experience
  • A minimum 5 years project management experience
  • Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
  • MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus)
  • Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
