Our client is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer in Hollywood, FL.

Role Description

STOF is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer with strong enterprise security experience to support and operate critical security platforms across a complex, public sector infrastructure environment. This role is hands on and technical, focused on firewall management, threat detection and response, vulnerability management, and control implementation.

This position sits one level below the Lead Cybersecurity Engineer role and does not require people management or leadership experience. Ideal candidates will bring deep technical expertise, particularly in Palo Alto firewalls, and have experience supporting government, public sector, or large regulated environments.

Administer and support Palo Alto firewall infrastructure, including policy management, rule reviews, and optimization.
Manage firewalls using Palo Alto Panorama and Strata Cloud Manager.
Support endpoint detection and response (EDR/XDR), using Microsoft Defender or Palo Alto Cortex XDR.
Assist with incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and remediation.
Execute vulnerability management processes, including scanning support, prioritization, remediation tracking, and reporting.
Support email security operations using Proofpoint.
Partner with IT, infrastructure, and cloud teams to ensure security controls are implemented and operating effectively.
Work within established security frameworks and compliance requirements common to government or public infrastructure environments.

Skills & Requirements

5-7+ years of hands on cybersecurity or security engineering experience.
Strong experience administering Palo Alto firewalls in an enterprise environment.
Experience with Palo Alto Panorama and Strata Cloud Manager.
Experience supporting EDR/XDR solutions, preferably Microsoft Defender or Palo Alto Cortex XDR.
Hands on experience with vulnerability management programs.
Working knowledge of incident response processes.
Experience operating within large, complex, or public sector/government environments.
Solid understanding of security controls and control effectiveness.
Experience supporting public sector, government, or regulated infrastructure.
Cloud security exposure (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
Familiarity with SIEM/SOAR platforms (Sentinel, Splunk, Cortex XSOAR).
Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Python).
Security certifications (PCNSE, CISSP, GIAC, Security+, cloud security certs).
