Detailed Job Description:
The Agency is looking for a result oriented and adaptable individual with a ‘can do attitude’ to lead business intelligence projects, legacy, and modernized software/application development projects for our business partners. This project manager will lead multiple projects from small to multi-million-dollar development efforts. The person in this role will lead the business intelligence and software/ application development team members to complete projects and work closely with our business partners to ensure its success.
The Project Manager III Designs, plans, and coordinates work teams. Follows standard project management industry practices such as the PMI's framework. Understands business and technical objectives of a project and works closely with project sponsor. Creates project charter and work plan, and tracks budget and schedule progress via appropriate metrics. Establishes project organization and methodologies and defines roles and responsibilities. Documents risks and develops mitigation plans. Manages scope. Project Manager capabilities with 12 or more years of experience. Capable of managing a project with up to ten (10) or more staff and/or a project with multiple subprojects. Experience with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
The individual in this position will:
· Be responsible for technical and overall project management on enterprise-wide business intelligence, software/application development, and infrastructure/ architecture projects.
· Works closely with the project sponsor and IT senior management to understand and prioritize project tasks. Solves complex technical problems. Understands business objectives and problems, identifies alternative solutions, performs feasibility studies and cost/benefit analysis of alternatives in support of enterprise-wide business intelligence.
· Builds an effective team and directs the work of the project team to meet project milestones. Develops standards, policies and procedures for the form, structure and attributes of the business intelligence documentation, tools, and systems. Develops data/information quality metrics.
· Develop and maintain project charters, plans, deliverables, and other project artifacts.
· Work closely with the project sponsor and IT senior management to understand and prioritize project tasks, solve complex technical problems, understand business objectives and problems, identify alternative solutions, and perform feasibility studies and cost/benefit analysis.
· Research new technology and develops business cases to support enterprise-wide business intelligence solutions. Participate in special projects as required.
· Have 12+ years of project management experience with leading large and complex database management systems, business intelligence tools and systems.
