Leidos is seeking a passionate and driven
Data Science Intern to join our Arlington, VA team supporting our national security customer. You'll work side-by-side with system/software engineers and research/data scientists to help evolve a cutting-edge production platform that combines
microservices,
data search & analytics,
AI and

Primary Responsibilities- Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor or Master's degree in the field of Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields
- Intermediate software development skills including developing and maintaining code bases
- Familiar with at least one programming language like Python, Java, C/C++.
- Experience with at least one of the following machine learning libraries SciKit Learn, Keras, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
- Experience or educational courses/projects in Machine Learning, and/or Text
- Must be U.S. Citizen eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. Leidos will guide you through the clearance process.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with Big Data platforms like Hadoop, Azure or Spark.
- Hands-on experience with prototype development and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, D3.js).
- Knowledge of text mining tools and techniques, including summarization, entity extraction, and anomaly detection.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git and IDEs such as VS Code.
- Practical experience with statistical analysis and/or experience applying data analytics
- Hands-on experience with intelligent systems and machine learning
- Experience with interpretability of deep learning models
- Ability to obtain /maintain DoD Top Secret security clearance with polygraph
Work location and schedule- Arlington, VA. Hybrid: 4 days on-site, 1 day remote per week.
- 8-10 week internship, target start May/June 2026.
