- Monitor jobs, analyze user queries, and determine where data gaps exist
- Work directly with business users to investigate SQL tables and identify missing or incorrect data
- Handle enhancement requests and development asks
- Perform analysis and cascade requirements and findings to the development team
- Support the long-standing Touchpoint Data Warehouse (TPW) initiative (10-15 years old)
Technical Environment & Requirements- Primary database: Oracle (migrated from a legacy environment) - must be strong with Oracle SQL
- Python: scripting for data processing, transformations, and ETL workflows
- Ability to walk through procedures, job flows, and database tables
- Not hands-on coding full solutions; more analysis and communication with dev teams and business
- Minimum 10+ years experience
- Excellent communication skills are critical
- Expected to perform live SQL query writing during interviews
- Team is based largely in NY - preference for candidates in NJ
Team Overview The team is a Data Engineering group focused on building and maintaining robust Database centric data pipelines, database solutions, and analytics platforms across heterogeneous systems. They develop and maintain Oracle, PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, Vertica and Unix Shell/Python automation, with workload scheduling orchestrated through Autosys. The team ensures end to end data integrity, reliability, and performance across traditional database environments (Oracle, Vertica, MS SQL). They leverage data modeling, data profiling, dimensional modeling, and database testing to deliver well documented, stable, and compliant data solutions.
