Job Title: Technical Benchling Consultant (Benchling ELN/LIMS Suite)
Location: Remote (U.S.) – East Coast Location/Hours
Onsite Requirements: Remote (minimal travel)
Introduction
A client in the pharma/life sciences space is seeking a Technical Benchling Consultant to support implementation and ongoing configuration of the Benchling ELN/LIMS suite across scientific workflows. This consultant will partner closely with business stakeholders and scientists, as well as the Benchling implementation partner, to translate requirements into scalable configurations, integrations, documentation, and testing support.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
· Configure the Benchling ELN/LIMS suite to meet defined business and scientific workflow requirements.
· Partner with Benchling professional services and internal SMEs to drive solution delivery.
· Translate business process requirements into Benchling configurations, workflows, and technical design.
· Analyze and document data flow between Benchling and connected enterprise systems.
· Create and maintain configuration documentation, workflow documentation, and solution design artifacts.
· Support system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and defect triage/resolution.
· Support knowledge transfer activities to establish a long-term operating and support model.
· Assist with training materials, end-user onboarding, and adoption support.
· Support deployment activities, hypercare, and transition to steady-state operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
· 3+ years of experience as a Technical Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or Application Analyst working with Benchling.
· Hands-on experience configuring scientific workflows within the Benchling platform (ELN/LIMS) to include utilization of Rest APIs, JSON, XML, Python, and SQL.
· Experience supporting SaaS platform implementations (configuration, testing, deployment support).
· Experience producing data mapping documentation and interface/integration specifications.
· Ability to convert user requirements into technical designs and implement scalable solutions.
· Hands-on experience with the Benchling Developer Platform, including Benchling public APIs.
· Experience working in Agile environments; familiarity with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
· Strong communication skills and comfort working with scientific and business stakeholders.
· Domain exposure to biotech, protein engineering, laboratory operations, and/or pharmaceutical R&D.
· Experience supporting regulated or compliance-driven environments (as applicable).
