Senior Solution Architect Physical and Electronic Security Systems
Location: Washington, DC. (100% Onsite)
Position Summary
Our client is seeking a Senior Solution Architect to serve as the Corporate Security Subject Matter Expert for electronic security systems engineering and design compliance. This consultant will support all phases of Amtrak s physical and electronic security program and ensure that proposed security-system designs satisfy Amtrak standards, operational needs, and recognized industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary technical SME for electronic security systems engineering and design compliance.
Participate in all phases of physical and electronic security initiatives.
Review and evaluate security-system designs developed by consultants, architects, engineers, and contractors.
Identify design deficiencies, compliance concerns, technical risks, and areas requiring clarification or revision.
Confirm that designs comply with Amtrak security standards and operational requirements.
Ensure proposed solutions align with applicable industry standards and accepted best practices.
Provide technical guidance and recommendations to internal stakeholders and external project partners.
Help maintain consistency and quality across Corporate Security projects involving physical and electronic security systems.
Required Qualifications
Senior-level experience in electronic security systems engineering, architecture, or design.
Strong knowledge of physical and electronic security systems and their application within complex facilities or enterprise environments.
Demonstrated experience reviewing and evaluating technical designs, engineering plans, specifications, or construction-related security documents.
Ability to assess designs for compliance with organizational standards, operational requirements, and industry best practices.
Experience working with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and business or security stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify technical deficiencies, risks, and compliance gaps.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to serve as a trusted technical SME and clearly explain recommendations to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
Preferred Background
Experience supporting security programs within a large transportation, infrastructure, government, or similarly regulated organization.
Familiarity with the full lifecycle of physical and electronic security projects, from planning and design through implementation and acceptance.
Experience reviewing designs prepared by multidisciplinary architecture, engineering, and construction teams.
Knowledge of current electronic security engineering standards, design principles, and industry best practices.
