Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries for tax true-ups
  • Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations of property tax accounts
  • Assist in the preparation and review of annual property tax budgets
  • Review tax payments and prepare wire transfers and/or check requests
  • Ensure proper coding of payments to the appropriate general ledger accounts
  • Research tax issues, accounts, liens, and assist with onboarding new acquisitions
  • Collaborate with external property tax consultants to ensure compliance and accurate reporting
  • Respond to inquiries from taxing authorities and internal management, providing thorough research and resolution
  • Support special projects and process improvements as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably with a focus in property tax, though not required
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles and journal entries.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated; self-starter
  • Preferred experience in accounting software SAP

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
  • The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Lead Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant job related experience

Working Conditions:

  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
