Job Title: Video Surveillance Systems Field Technician
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Contract Position: - 2 Months
Onsite Role
Summary:
The Video Surveillance Systems Field Technician will serve as the bridge between field installation and troubleshooting support for City-deployed residential video doorbell cameras.
Perform site readiness checks, install and configure devices (including wired installs for ADA residents as directed), verify connectivity, deliver basic resident onboarding, and document each completion per City checklist and project procedures.
Responsibilities:
· Installed, configured, and serviced low-voltage systems including CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and networking equipment for residential and commercial clients.
· Interpreted wiring diagrams and technical schematics to perform accurate installations, system upgrades, and repairs using standard electrical and hand tools.
· Diagnosed and resolved basic Wi-Fi and network connectivity issues to ensure proper system functionality and reliable device integration.
· Provided clear and professional customer communication during installations and service visits, explaining system operation and troubleshooting steps.
· Performed field service work at multiple locations, safely working outdoors while adhering to company safety protocols and installation standards.
· Maintained a valid driver’s license and traveled to client sites to complete scheduled installations, maintenance, and emergency service calls.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
· 2+ years of experience installing and servicing low-voltage devices (e.g., CCTV, access control,
alarms, networking) or equivalent.
· Ability to read wiring diagrams/schematics and perform safe installations using standard tools.
· Basic Wi-Fi/network troubleshooting and strong customer service communication.
· Valid driver’s license; ability to work outdoors and perform field work safely.
Preferred:
· Experience with video surveillance systems and related software/tools.
· Knowledge of networking concepts (switches, VLANs, Power over Ethernet) and structured cabling is a plus.
