Role Overview
An opportunity is available for a mid-level Airworthiness & Regulatory Specialist to join an in-service safety and compliance investigations team. In this role, you will lead teams in performing detailed Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations related to regulatory compliance issues. This position provides exposure to all aspects of airplane certification throughout the lifecycle and contributes directly to product safety by maintaining and restoring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead functional engineering organizations through structured investigation processes for issues related to FAA actions, voluntary disclosures, and non-compliances.
- Coordinate with internal functional groups, management, executives, and suppliers to align all stakeholders on investigation status and resolution.
- Investigate regulatory compliance issues by identifying problem statements, developing comprehensive root cause analyses, and defining containment and preventative actions.
- Collaborate with the Organizational Designation Authorization (ODA) to ensure investigation documentation meets regulatory expectations.
- Partner with enterprise groups to continuously improve investigation processes and tools.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements; a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is necessary.
- Candidates must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work effectively within a diverse team, and an aptitude for taking initiative and leading cross-functional projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) tools, such as 5-Whys, Fishbone, or a similar problem-solving model.
- 1+ years of experience with commercial airplane operation, certification, safety requirements, and procedures.
- Working knowledge of FAA Regulatory Compliance and ODA procedures per 8100.15.
- 1+ years of experience working with the FAA or other regulatory agencies.
- 1+ years of experience in Commercial Airplane-Systems design or analysis (e.g., Flight Controls, Hydraulics, Avionics).
- Pilot's license.
- Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $50.00 and $57.00 per hour. The work schedule is for the first shift.
