ServicePoint is partnering with a client to identify an experienced Cisco Network Engineer
for a 6-month temp-to-hire opportunity based in Wilmer, TX. This role follows a hybrid
schedule, requiring onsite presence 2 3 days per week. While the position operates during
standard business hours, occasional onsite support may be required during network
incidents. In such cases, the client has confirmed that work hours will be adjusted to
remain within a 40-hour workweek.
Role Overview
The Cisco Network Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation,
maintenance, and support of the organization s network infrastructure. This role requires
strong hands-on Cisco networking expertise, the ability to work independently, and
experience supporting industrial or manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design and configure network hardware and software solutions.
Perform daily operation and maintenance of:
o Routers, switches, firewalls
o Wireless controllers and access points
Troubleshoot and resolve network, hardware, and software issues to ensure uptime,
security, and optimal performance.
Manage and maintain network equipment, internet connectivity, and Wi-Fi
infrastructure.
Replace, upgrade, configure, and program network devices as needed.
Lead or contribute to new network projects, including proposal development,
requisitions, vendor coordination, testing, acceptance, and delivery.
Perform IT asset management for network-related equipment to ensure inventory
accuracy.
Execute hardware and software upgrades for network infrastructure.
Manage Wi-Fi customer portal authentication and access controls.
Support network security initiatives, including authentication and access
management.
Oversee day-to-day operations within the MDF, including equipment and materials
tracking per company guidelines.
Manage data connections between IDFs and MDFs, including fiber runs and
cabling.
Identify and report potential IT risks.
Provide backup support for desktop systems and peripherals, including computers,
printers, scanners, monitors, conference room equipment, and related software.
Provide backup support for security camera systems, including user and permission
management.
Assist with new employee IT setups and deprovisioning for terminated employees.
Contribute recommendations for network roadmaps, enhancements, and
infrastructure improvements.
Qualifications
5+ years of professional networking experience
Strong mid-level Cisco networking expertise (5+ years)
Hands-on experience with:
o Cisco routers and switches
o LAN/WAN configuration and troubleshooting
o VLANs, routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP), and ACLs
o Network performance monitoring and issue resolution
Strong background in manufacturing or industrial IT environments
o Experience with OT/IT, shop-floor systems, or MES preferred
Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are a strong plus
Bilingual in Mandarin is highly preferred
Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
