The Embedded Systems Section within the Strategic Aerospace Department delivers comprehensive engineering solutions for the aerospace community, specializing in system engineering, technology insertion, requirements generation, cybersecurity, trade studies, and full lifecycle support. Our expertise encompasses the design, development, maintenance, and production of advanced hardware and software systems, supporting everything from microcircuits to major subsystems for aircraft and ground support equipment, ensuring mission-critical performance and innovation.

Objectives of this Role:

  • Support design, development, analysis, integration, and test of avionics electronics, circuit card assemblies, and embedded hardware for aerospace and defense applications.
  • Assist senior engineers with schematic capture, component selection, interface definition, circuit analysis, laboratory troubleshooting, and verification of analog, digital, and power electronics.
  • Develop practical knowledge of avionics hardware design, electrical interfaces, embedded electronics, test equipment, and engineering processes through hands-on project execution.
  • Support multidisciplinary teams integrating electrical hardware with software, firmware, mechanical systems, sensors, and aircraft or laboratory test environments.
  • Prepare engineering documentation, calculations, test procedures, reports, design updates, and technical data supporting development, qualification, and sustainment activities.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

  • Create and update schematics, bills of material, interface definitions, wiring information, and basic electrical design documentation under the guidance of experienced engineers.
  • Perform circuit calculations, component research, tolerance reviews, bench measurements, troubleshooting, and laboratory testing of analog, digital, power, and mixed-signal electronics.
  • Support prototype build, bring-up, integration, and test of circuit card assemblies, embedded electronics, avionics interfaces, sensors, and associated test equipment.
  • Use electrical engineering tools for schematic capture, simulation, data analysis, documentation, and configuration control.
  • Learn applicable aerospace and defense design standards.
  • Work with systems, software, firmware, mechanical, test, and manufacturing engineers to resolve technical issues and support successful hardware integration and verification.

Requirements:

  • Requires a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • 0 years: Academic, internship, co-op, laboratory, senior-design, or research experience involving electronic hardware, circuit design, embedded systems, avionics, or electrical test.
  • Experience or coursework using schematic capture, circuit simulation, laboratory instrumentation, PCB/CCA development, embedded electronics, or electrical troubleshooting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with C/C++, Python, MATLAB, SPICE/PSpice, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, multimeters, or similar engineering tools is desirable.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.

Special Requirements:

Work assignment is in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
