Role Overview
As the Regional Quality Assurance Manager, you will serve as a cornerstone of the corporate quality leadership team. You are charged with overseeing product safety and compliance across multiple manufacturing sites, ensuring every product aligns with company’s standards, customer requirements, and federal regulations. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on fostering a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, and cross-functional synergy.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Development
Team Growth: Direct the professional development and performance management of the regional quality staff.
Strategic Influence: Build robust partnerships across departments to guide site strategies and champion quality-centric decision-making.
Training & Communication: Design and execute comprehensive food safety training; ensure transparent and immediate escalation of quality, safety, or financial risks.
Culture Building: Cultivate a high-performance environment using SMART goals and standardized work practices to motivate the team and drive excellence.
Systems & Operational Integrity
Quality Governance: Manage the regional implementation of Product Safety and Quality systems, ensuring they integrate seamlessly with commercialization and change control processes.
Risk Mitigation: Oversee internal audit programs to identify vulnerabilities and ensure the timely completion of corrective actions.
Root Cause Analysis: Utilize advanced problem-solving tools to eliminate recurring issues and implement engineering or systemic preventative measures.
Performance Metrics: Drive regional KPIs, focusing on First Pass Quality, complaint reduction, inventory health, CAPA effectiveness, and sanitation performance.
New Product Integration: Partner with R&D and Production to vet new equipment and processes, quantifying success probabilities and mitigating risks for first-time-right manufacturing.
Technical Expertise
Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary point of professional contact for customer audits and regulatory inspections (FDA).
Technical Application: Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) and sanitation principles to evaluate and enhance manufacturing processes.
Process Integration: Standardize best practices across all sites to ensure a unified quality system.
Candidate Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Science or a closely related technical field.
10+ years of progressive experience in Food, Dietary Supplements, or a related regulated industry.
Proven track record in a Management/Leadership capacity.
Technical Skills & Certifications
Deep expertise in FDA regulations, HACCP, and SQF standards.
Strong background in an FDA-regulated environment.
Proficiency in project management with the ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure.
Physical & General Demands
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand, walk, sit, and reach for extended periods during site visits.
Willingness to travel occasionally across the region.
