The
Project Manager will play a key role in supporting the Insurance Systems Operations team in the planning, execution, and delivery of insurance-related technology projects. Working closely with cross-functional teams — including IT, business stakeholders, and vendors — this individual will manage timelines, resources, and quality standards to ensure initiatives meet operational goals. The role focuses on process management (not people management) and is central to coordinating monthly releases and smaller projects across the organization.
Compensation: $40-$50/hour
Location: first 90 days EVERYDAY on-site, then hybrid (Tampa 33607)
Duration: 3 month Contract-To-Hire
Responsibilities:
Release & project coordination — Manage monthly software releases and ad hoc projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring alignment with business priorities and timelines.
Integration management — Oversee projects involving software integrations, coordinating across technical and business teams to ensure seamless execution.
Agile & waterfall methodology — Apply agile and waterfall frameworks as appropriate to guide project planning, execution, and delivery.
Stakeholder communication — Maintain clear, proactive communication with IT, business stakeholders, and vendors to ensure requirements are understood and met throughout the project lifecycle.
Documentation & reporting — Create and maintain project documentation including schedules, status reports, meeting minutes, and risk logs; provide regular updates to stakeholders.
Risk management — Identify risks and issues that may impact timelines or deliverables, escalate appropriately, and develop mitigation strategies.
Process improvement — Identify and recommend process enhancements based on project learnings to continuously improve insurance systems operations.
Compliance — Maintain company integrity by adhering to all applicable federal and state regulations and internal policies.
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of project management experience, or significant experience as a Business Analyst
- Proven experience managing software development projects and system integrations
- Proficiency in both agile and waterfall methodologies
- Experience with Jira and Confluence preferred
- Insurance industry experience (P&C or auto) is a strong plus and will differentiate candidates — required at the top of the compensation range
- Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
