Job Summary
We are looking for motivated candidates to join our Data Center Infrastructure team as Fiber Optic Technician Trainees. No prior cabling or fiber optic experience is required, as structured classroom and hands-on laboratory training will be provided.
Candidates will receive training in fiber optic cable handling, MPO/MTP connectors, cable labeling, cleaning and inspection procedures, and data center safety practices.
Candidates who successfully complete the hands-on certification assessment will be eligible to transition into a Fiber Optic Technician Level 1 (L1) role.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- No previous cabling or fiber optic experience required.
- Good mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn technical skills.
- Ability to distinguish cable colors and color-coded components.
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to understand and follow technical instructions.
- Basic communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work in a data center environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (22.7 kg).
- Comfortable working on ladders and elevated lifts.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform hands-on activities for extended periods.
