Genesis10 is currently seeking a SRE Lead for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role involves designing and leading reliability engineering for banking and payments. The SRE Lead will establish SRE standards, automation, and best practices to improve resilience, reduce incidents, and scale engineering-led operations. A top performer is a transformation leader who can turn a traditional support organization into a data-driven reliability engineering function.
Responsibilities: - Lead Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) strategy, automation, reliability by design, and observability
- Reduce incidents and improve recovery time
- Prove improvements through SLOs, automation, resilience, and reduced operational toil
- Influence senior executives to change how reliability is measured and funded
Requirements: - 8+ years of relevant experience
- Skilled in resilient engineering, risk control, and scaling operations across complex banking and payments environments
- Must have experience as a transformation leader, not just an SRE engineer
- Successfully led an SRE transformation in a large regulated enterprise
- Implemented SLO/SLI/error-budget frameworks at scale
- Can show tangible reductions in incidents, MTTR, operational toil, and reliability risk
- Experience in US Banking - Payments, Information Security Engineering, and Project Testing/Implementation/Release Management
Desired skills: - Demonstrate flexibility, navigate ambiguity, and quickly establish credibility among technical peers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Pay range: $47.52 - $55.52 per hour
