Application Architect with deep expertise in
.NET technologies and SQL Server to design, modernize, and architect enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will lead the development of secure, scalable, and maintainable application solutions across Microsoft and Java-based platforms while driving modernization initiatives and AI-assisted software development practices.
This role requires strong experience in enterprise architecture, application modernization, cloud-native design, DevSecOps, and GitHub Copilot adoption. The architect will establish technical standards, mentor development teams, and ensure compliance with security, accessibility, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Design and architect secure, scalable, and high-performance .NET (C#, ASP.NET Core) applications using Clean Architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and modern software engineering practices.
- Develop enterprise solution architectures spanning applications, APIs, databases, integration platforms, and cloud services.
- Design optimized SQL Server databases, advanced T-SQL solutions, indexing strategies, partitioning, Query Store tuning, and High Availability/Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) architectures.
- Define enterprise integration strategies using REST APIs, authentication mechanisms, messaging platforms, and data exchange across Microsoft, IBM, and third-party systems.
- Lead the adoption of GitHub Copilot for AI-assisted software development, including prompt engineering, custom instructions, automated code reviews, documentation, refactoring, and testing.
- Create architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and solution specifications while conducting architecture and design review sessions.
- Establish enterprise architecture standards, coding standards, reusable design patterns, and software development best practices.
- Ensure applications comply with security policies, Zero Trust principles, PII protection requirements, and WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards.
- Lead application modernization initiatives by migrating legacy applications to modern cloud-native architectures.
- Assess technical debt, define modernization roadmaps, and recommend phased migration strategies.
- Design and implement modern software delivery practices including Git workflows, branching strategies, CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, environment management, and DevSecOps processes.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and software products to support long-term technology strategy.
- Provide technical leadership during project planning, architecture reviews, proof-of-concept (POC) development, effort estimation, and solution design activities.
- Mentor development teams and promote best practices in software architecture and AI-assisted development.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 4+ years of experience serving as an Application or Solution Architect on enterprise-scale .NET and SQL Server projects.
