Solution Architect

Job Summary

The State Government is seeking a Solution Architect to assess enterprise data catalog platforms and recommend solutions suitable for a future statewide implementation. The selected candidate will evaluate technical requirements, interoperability, architecture, security, and vendor capabilities to support the selection and evaluation of solutions for the proof of concept.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of public-sector or government experience.

• Strong experience in solution architecture and enterprise technology assessment.

• Experience evaluating enterprise data management solutions.

• Knowledge of system integration, interoperability, and technical requirements.

• Understanding of data security, privacy, and enterprise architecture.

• Experience evaluating vendor products and technical capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience evaluating data catalog platforms such as Collibra, Alation, Microsoft Purview, or Informatica.

• Knowledge of metadata repositories and data governance architecture.

• Experience with cloud-based and on-premises enterprise data environments.

• Familiarity with API integrations, data pipelines, and metadata ingestion.

• Experience supporting government technology procurement or vendor evaluations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess available enterprise data cataloging platforms.

• Gather and document technical and operational requirements.

• Evaluate vendor solutions against State requirements.

• Assess integration capabilities with existing enterprise systems.

• Review solution architecture, interoperability, scalability, and security.

• Identify technical risks, dependencies, and implementation considerations.

• Support proof-of-concept solution selection.

• Prepare technical evaluation findings and recommendations.
