job summary:
We have an immediate opening for a highly motivated Production Control Engineer II to join our dynamic and growing team. This position is responsible for managing daily operations of production control activities for systems software and hardware, data and applications. MUST be experienced in data center infrastructure projects, structured cabling copper/fiber, testing of cables, cooling, and electrical systems concepts inside a data center. This position is onsite, daily, in Amherst NY with shift hours from 11am - 7pm Tue/Sat. Must be able to work as a W-2 employee of Randstad; no third parties, PLEASE!

Responsibilities:
Manages daily operations of production control activities for systems software and hardware, data and applications
Works with product teams to define, architect and implement tools to enhance availability, scalability, cost-efficiency, and performance of IT environment
Ensures capacity planning for IT environment and implements performance metrics and event-driven alerting
Provides second-level production support and maintain system management tools
Participates in the disaster recovery processes/exercises and ensure preventive maintenance activities are carried out to maintain business continuity
Ensures that major revisions to applications in production are passed after thorough testing and proper documentation according to change management and software development life cycle
Recommends suitable software solutions and ideas for automating tasks of daily operations
Documents standard operating procedures and sharing frequent progress reports/ updates with required stakeholders
Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all policies and standards
qualifications:
Bachelors
1 Experience with data center infrastructure projects required
2 Experience with structured cabling copper/fiber, testing of cables, cooling, and electrical systems concepts inside the data center required
3 Be able to work independently
4 Be willing to work onsite and in designated shift
