Position Overview
The State of Michigan is seeking an experienced Data Warehouse Architect 5 to support data warehouse architecture, enterprise data environments, and ETL-related activities within the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with IBM Cloud Pak for Data (CP4D), Teradata 20, Unix/Linux scripting and system operations, and advanced SQL. Experience working with large enterprise datasets and supporting data analysis and ETL processes is required.
This is a long-term hybrid opportunity based in Lansing, Michigan.
Key Responsibilities
- Support data warehouse architecture and enterprise data management initiatives.
- Work extensively with Teradata 20 and large enterprise datasets.
- Develop and optimize SQL and BTEQ queries.
- Perform database performance optimization and troubleshooting.
- Support data analysis and ETL processes using advanced SQL.
- Develop and maintain Unix/Linux scripts and support system operations.
- Work with IBM Cloud Pak for Data (CP4D) in data platform and warehouse environments.
- Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to support data warehouse solutions.
- Assist with enterprise data integration, processing, and performance-related activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 1+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Cloud Pak for Data (CP4D).
- 3+ years of strong experience with Teradata 20.
- 3+ years of experience with SQL/BTEQ, performance optimization, and large enterprise datasets.
- 5+ years of Unix/Linux scripting and system operations experience.
- 3+ years of advanced SQL experience for data analysis and ETL support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Public Health.
- Experience in the Health Industry.
- Previous State Government experience.
Work Arrangement
- Hybrid work schedule is mandatory.
- Candidates must work on-site every Wednesday and Thursday.
- Candidates must be able to work on-site from the beginning of the assignment.
- Remote-only candidates will not be considered.
- Candidates local to the Lansing, Michigan area are preferred.
- Candidates willing to relocate to Lansing at their own expense may be considered but must relocate before the first day of the assignment.
- No travel is required.
Interview Process
- 1–2 rounds of interviews.
- Combination of technical and soft-skill interviews.
- Interviews may be conducted virtually or in person.
- Candidates participating in virtual interviews must be prepared to join from a laptop and share their screen if requested.

- Projected Duration: 1 year+, dependent on business need
