Join our first-class team to reinvent in-flight experience. In the role of Principal Engineer, Electronics, you'll play a pivotal part on our Engineering team. The Principal Electronics Engineer is responsible for the research, analysis, design, development, testing, debugging and modification of electronics equipment such as VFMDs (Variable Frequency Motor Drives) for vacuum generators and air compressors (ACIM/BLDC), AC/DC Power Converters (3-?), 28V DC Valve Controllers, and W&W System Controllers for commercial aerospace industry.

The Principal Electronics Engineer will take ownership and/or support technical engineering teams and projects related to W&W System Components. Using sound engineering principles, this engineer will interface with cross functional groups (internal and external) to ensure robust, airworthy designs that meet budget, schedule and internal requirements and goals. This leadership position will be responsible for participating in and leading improvement activities at a group and/or company level.

Candidate skills & requirements
Analytical - Ability to use electrical circuit simulation tools such as PSPICE and system level simulation tools such as PSIM/MATLAB/Simulink. Able to analyze product efficiency, transient and dynamic operating and load conditions. Electromagnetic design analysis. Design maturity and reliability analysis. System interaction sensitivity and product sizing. Ability to gather information, analyze it and effectively present the data to supervisors/management. Design work flows and procedures to enable proper project management. Synthesizes complex and diverse information. Uses intuition and experience to complement data.
Design - Experience in analog and digital control systems and applications. Superior design skills in DC-DC converter, Active Rectifiers, Gate Drives, Voltage/Current Sensor Circuit designs, EMI filter designs. Translates concepts and information into detailed electronics design data. Understanding of design parameters governing the product performance and water & waste system interactions. Disseminates product design advantages for competitive and novel improvements
Standards - Experience in applying aerospace regulations such as RTCA/DO-160 and RTCA/DO-254 guidelines to electronics designs. Knowledge in major aerospace OEM electronics design guidelines. Ability to determine whether design complies with requirements and regulations.
Interpersonal Skills - Possess a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. Ability to listen and communicate, and to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to develop time management skills that are required for a demanding development environment. Ability to make timely/sound decisions and accurate judgments is essential. Ability to provide leadership to other members of the engineering team. Remains open to others' ideas and tries new things. Effectively influences actions and opinions of others, inspires and motivates others to perform well, able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives
Hands on experience - Using design/simulation tools such as Altium/OrCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, PSIM, PSPICE etc. and test equipment such as programmable power supplies, high speed digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers etc. Experience in laboratory testing, instrumentation setup and data analysis.
Protocols - Design level understanding of communication protocols such as CAN, ARINC, SPI, RS-232 etc.,

Education and/or Experience -
Bachelors or Masters or Phd Degree in electrical engineering from a recognized ABET accredited institution or equivalent
Bachelors Degree in electrical engineering 20 + years of electronics experience with a desire for mixed signal design experience
Masters Degree in electrical engineering 15 + years of electronics experience with a desire for mixed signal design experience
Phd Degree in electrical engineering 10 + years of electronic
