Business Data Analyst (Investment Domain)

• 12 plus years of  overall Business Analyst with  strong Investment Domain.
• 5–7 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within the Investment  domain experience.
• Strong understanding of trade lifecycle (trade → processing → reporting)
• Knowledge of securities & identifiers (CUSIP, ISIN, ratings, attributes)
• Familiarity with portfolio/position concepts and aggregation logic
• Understanding of key financial metrics (yield, spread, duration, price, market value, performance, Profit/Loss)
• Ability to perform data reconciliation across systems (Aladdin, Snowflake, reports)
• Awareness of investment data flows and reporting impact on business users

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Business Data Analyst, who will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and the data support team, bringing deep investment domain expertise to interpret and prioritize data quality issues.

Key Responsibilities 

• Engage with business users to understand data issues and impact
• Interpret investment data discrepancies (trades, securities, portfolios)
• Support prioritization and SLA alignment
• Translate business problems into technical investigation inputs
• Validate outputs and ensure business acceptance
• Provide domain guidance to data analysts
• Support complex issue resolution and escalation discussions.
• Work closely with L3 teams (Data Engineering, Platform)
• Identify patterns and recurring issues
• Mentor junior analysts
• Perform triage and categorization of incoming tickets
• Conduct data validation and analysis across systems (Snowflake, Aladdin , EDM  and reporting platforms)
• Investigation:
• Missing transactions
• Data mismatches
• Data quality rule violations
• Escalate medium/complex issues with proper context
• Track tickets through end-to-end lifecycle
• Maintain documentation and runbooks 

Ideal Candidate Profile 

• 12+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst    
• 5–7 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within the Investment  domain experience.
• Strong knowledge of investment domain with strong understanding of trade lifecycle (trade → processing → reporting)
• Knowledge of securities & identifiers (CUSIP, ISIN, ratings, attributes)
• Familiarity with portfolio/position concepts and aggregation logic
• Understanding of key financial metrics (yield, spread, duration, price,market value, performance, Profit/Loss)
• Ability to perform data reconciliation across systems (Aladdin, Snowflake, reports)
• Awareness of investment data flows and reporting impact on business users
•  Ability to interpret financial data and reports
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working with data teams / analytics teams

Preferred

• Exposure to financial/investment data
• Familiarity with data quality tools (ICEDQ)
• Experience in investment systems (Aladdin or similar)

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
