Description:

WiFi Core Release Engineer

Location: Denver, CO (Onsite 4 days/week)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

About the Role

As a WiFi Core Release Engineer, you will manage the introduction of new hardware, software, and firmware into a large-scale, carrier-grade WiFi network. You will review architecture and deployment plans, validate and develop methods of procedure (MOPs), and ensure releases are executed safely and efficiently. You'll work closely with engineering, planning, and design teams to drive high-quality network delivery across core WiFi systems.

Responsibilities
  • Review release plans for new hardware, software, and firmware across the WiFi network.
  • Write, update, and validate methods of procedure (MOPs) to support reliable deployments.
  • Provide feedback to engineering and planning teams to improve handoffs and implementation quality.
  • Support prioritization of network release activities to ensure resource alignment.
  • Commission and upgrade network hardware, software, and firmware across the WiFi core.
  • Decommission network elements based on approved engineering programs.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of wireless networking experience supporting carrier-grade or large-scale WiFi networks.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (OSI model, TCP/IP, routing, switching, Ethernet, bridging).
  • Proficiency with WiFi standards and technologies (IEEE/ANSI, 802.11 variants).
  • Experience with WiFi architecture, controllers, core services, and related network appliances.
  • Knowledge of data center and cloud-based architectures.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience operating or supporting carrier-grade WiFi networks.
  • Background in network engineering, planning, or design.
  • Experience with VMWare, Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, and modern data center platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Linux environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Nokia, Cisco, Ericsson, or Ruckus WiFi infrastructure.
  • Experience deploying VM-based environments within an existing data center.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNP, vendor-specific WiFi training).

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
