Mechanical Technician- Sewing Machine

Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Mechanical Technician- Sewing Machine for a contract position in Auburn, ME. The opportunity will be six months with a strong chance for a long-term extension.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Assist with checking all mechanical aspects of the equipment (Alignment, torque tests, guards in place, free moving parts).
• Assist with developing and documenting centerlines.
• Assist with developing AM / PM Plans and documentation (Maintenance Plans).
• Assist with developing CIL''s.
• Assist with developing rebuild instructions for equipment.
• Assist with all mechanical aspects of parts and equipment associated with the sewing machines (Alignment, torque tests, tensions, guards in place, free moving parts).
• Assist with training and qualifications of new sewing resources learning how to rebuild sewing machines.
• Assist with standard updates and improvements as needed.

Qualifications:

• 10 years of high-speed sewing machine rebuild experience
• Technical Mastery - Able to follow work instructions and standards to tear down and rebuild complex sewing machine machinery.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve sewing defects.
• Ability to coach and train others to defined centerlines and settings.

Preferred:

• Experienced mechanical sewing machine rebuilder to assist with tear down and rebuilding of high-speed sewing machines used in the production process.
• Assist with setting up equipment to centerline and assessing set up of equipment on the production lines.
• Ability to troubleshoot sewing machines in productions for sources of defects and centerline outages.
• Full understanding of LOTO (Lockout / Tagout) requirements and working around energized equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and/or experience.
• 10 years experience.
• Experienced maintenance planner or other relative experience to assist with doing all the initial IQ / OQ checks to ensure that equipment is installed as required and all devices are installed in the proper orientation.
• Full understanding of LOTO (Lockout / Tagout) requirements and working around energized equipment.
• Understanding of production, packaging, and conveying systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and/or engineering degree/experience.
