Responsibilities

As a Principal Engineer, Technical Support within the PowerMax Support organization, you will play a critical role in delivering advanced technical expertise and resolving complex issues across Dell's enterprise storage portfolio. You will collaborate with enterprise customers, engineering teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to support mission-critical storage environments, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and customer satisfaction.

In This Role, You Will:
  • Provide expert-level technical support for Dell PowerMax storage solutions - via phone, web, chat or email. Diagnosing and resolving complex hardware, software, configuration, and performance-related issues.
  • Leverage advanced troubleshooting methodologies, diagnostic tools, and analytical techniques to efficiently identify root causes and drive timely resolutions for both known and emerging issues.
  • Support a broad range of storage technologies and customer environments, including SAN architectures, local and remote replication, RAID technologies, distributed workloads, and associated infrastructure components.
  • Partner closely with engineering, product teams, and cross-functional support organizations to resolve critical customer escalations, perform root cause analysis, and contribute to continuous product and process improvements.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor and primary point of contact for customers, ensuring effective communication, proactive engagement, and a best-in-class support experience.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing, technical mentoring, and the ongoing enhancement of support readiness across the organization.

Essential Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in technical support, storage engineering, or a related field, with hands-on experience supporting enterprise storage solutions.
  • Strong understanding of storage technologies, including RAID,SRDF, LREP, iSCSI, distributed workloads, networking, SAN infrastructure, and virtualization platforms.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-class storage systems and troubleshooting complex storage environments.
  • Familiarity with modern containerized environments and orchestration technologies, including Kubernetes.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong customer-focused mindset and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced support environment.

Desirable Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant professional experience, or Master's degree with 3+ years of related experience; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
  • Experience supporting Dell PowerMax or other enterprise storage platforms.
  • Proficiency in an additional European language, preferably German.
  • Knowledge of data protection, disaster recovery, replication technologies, and enterprise infrastructure ecosystems.
