Job Description

BCforward is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to support a cloud services project for our client. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in AWS and Terraform, a solid background in system administration and security, and the ability to deliver secure solutions in a changing environment while collaborating with project and enterprise IT teams.

Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day and project security support for system maintenance and integration of cloud security technologies and processes.


• Deploy security controls as code to support projects and operations.


• Monitor internal control systems to maintain appropriate access levels and clearances.


• Collaborate with peers, IT teams, leadership, and end users to develop solutions and improve controls.


• Design, implement, and update technical control requirement models aligned to policy and standards.


• Perform security gap analyses, recommend remediations, and support business cases for new products.


• Optimize current product implementations and support platform roadmaps.


• Contribute to complex system analyses to improve internal processes and mature the security organization.


• Develop, implement, and support SOPs and customer service guidelines for security domains.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 5+ years in enterprise IT Security Engineering, including security systems lifecycle, multi-team collaboration, security software administration, reporting and metrics, and application of security principles and standards.


• 3+ years of enterprise engineering experience with AWS and Terraform.


• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work independently.


• Background in system administration and security operations.

Preferred Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.


• Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, GSEC, or Security+.


• Experience deploying security configurations as code in AWS or Azure.


• 1+ years with Azure, HashiCorp Sentinel, or Palo Alto Prisma Cloud.


• In-depth knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation of security technologies and controls.
