Overview: Every Turnberry consultant belongs to a practice, an internal group of consultants and leaders with shared experience and expertise. Each of these practices aligns to one of the core services Turnberry offers to clients. As a Scrum Master, you will join Turnberry's Business Agility practice. Turnberry's Business Agility practice provides ways-of-working assessments with supporting improvement recommendations, Product Management and Agile Delivery education opportunities, team and enterprise-level Product and Agile coaching, and strategic staffing for each of the skills required to drive Agile and/or Project to Product transformation journeys.
Responsibilities:
Act as the scrum master for multiple product teams using an agile methodology in the execution of software development projects
Organize each team's product backlog to ensure product teams and management have a clear view of progress and priorities
Create and modify Jira stories, change tickets, and other artifacts necessary to ensure successful software releases
Create and maintain Confluence pages to track requirements, meeting minutes, and follow-up actions and release documents
Facilitate product teams in the review, estimation, and planning of software development efforts for the upcoming quarter
Collaborate with the product owner and the core team to prioritize work based on goals and objectives
Organize sprint planning meetings to review the product backlog, ensure stories have adequate detail, and identify user stories to be included in upcoming sprints
Conduct sprint review meetings to review the scope and functionality delivered in the previous sprint
Organize sprint retrospectives to document lessons learned and implement process improvements
Ensure the team abides by the Scrum rules and guidelines
Hold daily Scrum meetings to allow each team to synchronize their work and communicate issues and roadblocks to the product owner
Empower each product team and remove roadblocks to ensure continuous progress
Assist product owners in maintaining product backlogs by facilitating backlog grooming sessions
Work effectively as part of the Scrum team to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines
Establish a sense of urgency to complete tasks in a timely, cost-effective manner with top quality
Maintain an exceptional level of customer focus centered on integrity and transparency
Track metrics for each Scrum team and make them available in tools for reporting
Actively listen and respond to the needs of the product teams and customers in a manner that provides value and generates significant customer satisfaction
Qualifications:
Associates or Bachelor's degree
Drive for results - Comfortable leading meetings, focusing team members on the task at hand and facilitating groups to reach consensus in a timely manner
Recent, significant experience as Scrum Master facilitating multiple Scrum teams working on enterprise software projects across business areas
Expert knowledge of Jira, Confluence and Microsoft Office applications
Experience working with dynamic, highly collaborative teams, requiring close consultation and coordination
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced Degree
Certified Scrum Master and/or PMP
Experience with enterprise Java, .NET, Oracle, MS SQL
Experience within utilities, pharma, banking, finance, insurance, or other highly-transactional systems environments that produce very large amounts of data
Demonstrated leadership skills
The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $145,000 or the hourly equivalent.
