Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Application Programmer III to join our Markets Application Production Services (MAPS) team supporting Global Markets Futures and Options Clearing. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in AS/400 iSeries, production support, and monitoring tools, and a proven ability to lead incidents, drive operational excellence, and deliver reliable application support in a complex, time-sensitive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide end-to-end production support for Global Markets applications with a focus on Futures and Options Clearing.
- Lead incident management, triage, and resolution, including communication with business and senior technology stakeholders.
- Manage production changes in partnership with development and infrastructure teams using established change management tools and processes.
- Monitor application health and performance using tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, and ITRS Geneos, and implement proactive improvements.
- Analyze logs, jobs, and data flows across AS/400 iSeries, Linux, and middleware to troubleshoot and remediate issues.
- Apply ITIL practices for Incident, Problem, Change, and Capacity Management using tools such as ServiceNow or Remedy and Jira.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders and users to ensure client-focused service delivery and continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- AS/400 iSeries expertise, including RPG, CL, DB2, and job scheduling.
- Experience with IBM Connect:Direct for data transfer, Turnover for Change Management, and IBM Advanced Job Scheduler.
- Proficiency with monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, and ITRS Geneos.
- Hands-on skills in Linux, SQL, and at least one scripting or programming language such as Python or Java, with messaging platforms exposure.
- ITIL knowledge and experience using Remedy or ServiceNow and Jira for operational processes.
- 5+ years of application production support experience in the banking or financial industry.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, including log analysis with common UNIX syntax.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management with the ability to influence and collaborate across regions.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Autosys, Ansible, Grafana, and grid computing.
- Knowledge of capacity management and assessment practices.
