DAS Installation Technician (Wireless / Low Voltage / In-Building Systems)Location: Tennessee Market (Primarily Knoxville / UT Campus)

About the RoleWe are hiring an experienced DAS Installation Technician to support large-scale in-building wireless, low voltage, and fiber/coax projects across Tennessee. This role supports multi-venue deployments including government, education, transportation, stadiums/venues, and healthcare environments. Most work will take place across the UT campus, with additional projects throughout the state and occasional travel to Richmond, VA to support ongoing initiatives.
This is a hands-on installation position working on teams of two, where you will serve as the lead technician alongside a helper. You will install, troubleshoot, and maintain DAS systems, WAPs, coax, fiber, and structured cabling across new builds and existing campuses.
Key Responsibilities- Install, test, and maintain DAS systems, including coax, fiber-based, ODAS/IDAS solutions.
- Perform coax installation including " coax, Heliax, connectors, sweeping, and dressing.
- Install and terminate Cat6, low-voltage cabling, and structured cabling pathways (J-hooks, ladder rack).
- Conduct site surveys, blueprint reading, and follow job scope/installation documentation.
- Handle rack-and-stack, labeling, cable identification, and pathway management.
- Support public safety systems, in-building coverage enhancements, and wireless distribution.
- Perform troubleshooting, small equipment repairs, testing, and remediation.
- Work with OEMs including Corning, Commscope, SOLiD, ADRF, Mobile Access, Callus, etc.
- Conduct basic fiber work (pulling, testing, terminating; splicing a plus but not required).
- Provide job updates, documentation, pictures, and reporting to the construction manager.
- Lead a helper technician and delegate tasks as needed.
- Maintain accurate inventory and tools while upholding safety and quality standards.
Travel Expectations- Up to 50% travel
- Overnight stays in Richmond, VA for 4 nights at a time, returning home on weekends.
- Company vehicle provided for travel to out-of-state sites.
- Hotel and accommodations fully covered.
- Per diem during overnight travel.
Required Experience- 3+ years of experience in DAS, wireless, voice, data, or in-building communications.
- Strong experience with:
- Coax installation ( " coax, Heliax, connectors)
- Low voltage / structured cabling (Cat6)
- Rack-and-stack, labeling, and cable dressing
- WAP installation and basic wireless troubleshooting
- Ability to read blueprints, assign tasks, and provide site updates.
- Experience with fiber pulling, testing, and termination (splicing preferred but not required).

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Knoxville, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
