Desktop Imaging Technician

Location: Joint Base Andrews, Maryland (Onsite)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Desktop Imaging Technician for a project-based role to support surge staff during off-hours and weekends. This position is responsible for executing mass deployments of operating systems, configuring new hardware, and providing Tier 2 support. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in IT support and hardware deployment within a Windows environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute mass deployments of Windows operating systems using enterprise imaging tools like SCCM, MDT, or Autopilot.
  • Unbox, physically assemble, and test desktops, laptops, monitors, docking stations, and other peripherals.
  • Apply physical asset tags to all incoming IT equipment.
  • Accurately log serial numbers, MAC addresses, and assignment details into the IT Asset Management (ITAM) database.
  • Ensure all standard corporate applications, security patches, and drivers are correctly applied to the image.
  • Verify that disk encryption, endpoint protection, and VPN clients are active and communicating properly before device handoff.


Required Qualifications

Experience: 1-3 years of hands-on experience in IT Support, Help Desk, or dedicated hardware deployment roles. Demonstrated experience supporting a Windows 10/11 environment is required.

Technical Skills: Knowledge of Active Directory infrastructure and experience with various client hardware including HP and Dell laptops, desktops, and associated peripherals.

Certifications: CompTia Sec+ CE.

Clearance: Ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret clearance

Work Schedule

This position requires availability for evening or overnight shifts on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and on Saturdays and Sundays. Specific shift times are 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM or 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM.
