Position Summary

The Enterprise Data Steward is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and governance of master data across J&J systems. This role serves as the subject matter expert for Enterprise aligned data, driving data quality initiatives, compliance with global standards, and alignment with business and regulatory requirements.

Major Duties/Responsibilities
  • Master Data Governance: Define and enforce policies, standards, and procedures for Customer data creation, maintenance, and deactivation in ERP systems. Define, enforce, and continuously improve customer data standards, taxonomies, and master data policies cross sectors.
  • Data Quality Management: Define and implement data quality tests based on established data standards and business rules. Monitor and improve data quality through profiling, cleansing, and validation activities. Collaborate with business units to resolve data issues.
  • Stewardship: Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and IT for Customer data-related ERP enhancements. Define system configurations, requirements for integrations, and data migrations rules from legacy systems into S4. Own end-to-end stewardship of the customer master across sectors for enterprise owned fields, Metadata & Lineage Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data definitions, lineage, and usage across systems in Alation.
  • Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Ensure data complies with internal controls, audit requirements, and external regulations (e.g., SOX, GDPR).
  • Collaboration & Training: Partner with Commercial, Contacting and Finance to align data practices. Develop training materials, deliver training, and provide ongoing support to system users and data entry teams. Provide training, operational handover and support for master data sector stewards and Data Operation team as needed.

Process Improvement & Innovation
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities within supply chain and business processes, leveraging industry best practices and innovative solutions.
  • Document and implement standard guidelines, tools, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and service excellence.
  • Support change management initiatives, ensuring successful adoption of new processes and technologies.
  • Data quality score (composite measure of accuracy, completeness, timeliness).

Leadership & Team Collaboration
  • Model collaborative behaviors and support a high-performing, inclusive team culture.
  • Contribute to cross-enterprise thinking and fact-based decision-making, operating effectively in a complex, matrixed environment.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 8-10 years of Data experience is required; Experience in Supply Chain ERP preferred. Knowledge in SAP S4 and MDG preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of data management experience in the context of leading and running the implementation of large programs. Experience with data governance frameworks and operating models.
  • Define, document and enforce SAP specific master data policies: account groups, number ranges, field level required partner functions, customer hierarchies, pricing master linkages, and master data views (Sales, Company Code, etc.).
  • Demonstrable ability to work in multi-functional and cross-company teams, fostering collaboration and alignment. Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making. Monitor and maintain data quality rules, dashboards and exception queues in SAP MDG, S/4HANA, or data quality tools; drive automated remediation and manual resolution processes.
  • Skilled at eliciting business needs through effective questioning, listening, and translating those into technical requirements.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills to lead change and drive adoption across diverse partner groups.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives within timelines, where priorities change rapidly.
  • Strong conflict resolution and consensus-building skills.
  • Knowledge and application of AI technology within responsibilities of role

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Deep technical understanding of Master Data and its governance across enterprise systems.
  • Proven experience in SAP master data management or data stewardship roles
  • Strong understanding of SAP ECC/S4 HANA data structures and processes
  • Business Analysis Tools: Familiarity with project management, and data visualization tools (e.g., Visio, JIRA, Tableau).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Capacity to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Co-Pilot: Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and enterprise analytics tools.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust in response to changing environments.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$102,000.00 - $177,100.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

This position is eligible to participate in the Company's long-term incentive program.

Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation -120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado -48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington -56 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays -13 days per calendar year

Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year

Parental Leave - 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child

Bereavement Leave - 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
