Summary

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Senior Business Analyst / Product Owner for a contract-to-hire assignment with one of our premier financial services clients in Tampa/St. Petersburg, FL area . The role will support a wealth management organization operating within the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) and financial advisor technology ecosystem . Hybrid, onsite 2-3 days/week.

Position Overview
This individual will work closely with financial advisors, business stakeholders, operations teams, technology teams, and AI solution providers to identify and design opportunities to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) across the organization.

A major focus of this position will be AI use-case discovery and product definition. The BA/Product Owner will evaluate existing advisor and operational workflows, identify opportunities where AI can create measurable business value, and translate those opportunities into well-defined use cases, requirements, user stories, workflows, and implementation priorities.

The organization is preparing to introduce new AI products and capabilities as part of its broader technology strategy. This individual will play an important role in preparing the business for those capabilities by helping determine where AI should be applied, defining the underlying business requirements, and partnering with business and technology teams throughout implementation and adoption.
Responsibilities
  • Partner with financial advisors, wealth management professionals, operations teams, and technology stakeholders to understand existing workflows, business challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify and define AI-enabled use cases across advisor productivity, client service, operations, investment-related workflows, knowledge management, data access, and other areas of the wealth management business.
  • Facilitate discovery sessions and workshops with business stakeholders and subject-matter experts.
  • Evaluate and prioritize potential AI use cases based on business value, feasibility, user impact, risk, dependencies, and implementation complexity.
  • Translate business problems and opportunities into clearly defined business requirements, product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and functional requirements.
  • Document current-state processes and design future-state workflows incorporating AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, technology teams, and external AI solution providers.
  • Develop and maintain product backlogs and support prioritization, roadmap development, sprint planning, and release planning.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate AI capabilities into existing wealth management and financial advisor platforms and workflows.
  • Support solution design, testing, UAT, implementation, and user adoption.
  • Establish measurable business outcomes and success criteria for AI-enabled solutions.
  • Help ensure new AI capabilities address meaningful business needs and integrate effectively into advisor and employee workflows.
  • Support stakeholder communications and change-management activities associated with new AI capabilities.
Required Qualifications
  • Mid-to-senior level experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, Business Systems Analyst, or similar role supporting complex technology initiatives.
  • Experience within wealth management, Registered Investment Advisory (RIA), financial advisory, WealthTech, or a closely related financial services environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial advisor workflows and technology platforms used to support advisors and their clients.
  • Strong experience conducting requirements discovery and translating business needs into actionable technology and product requirements.
  • Experience developing user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, business requirements, and functional specifications.
  • Experience contributing to or managing product backlogs, prioritization, and roadmap planning.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum product delivery environments.
  • Strong facilitation skills and experience conducting discovery and requirements workshops.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with business stakeholders, subject-matter experts, and technical teams.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Must be able to work onsite in St. Petersburg, FL 2-3 days per week.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting AI, Generative AI, intelligent automation, machine learning, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience conducting AI use-case discovery, assessment, and prioritization.
  • Familiarity with financial advisor and WealthTech platforms such as Salesforce Financial Services Cloud, Envestnet, Orion, Addepar, Tamarac, Black Diamond, eMoney, MoneyGuide, Schwab Advisor Services, Fidelity Institutional, or Pershing.
  • Experience working within an RIA, wealth-management platform provider, custodian, broker-dealer, WealthTech company, or financial advisory organization.
  • Experience integrating new technology capabilities into existing financial advisor workflows.
  • Experience serving in a combined Business Analyst / Product Owner capacity.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a hands-on Business Analyst/Product Owner who understands how financial advisors and RIAs operate and can identify opportunities to improve advisor and business workflows through technology and AI.

This person does not need to be an AI engineer or data scientist. The key is the ability to understand the business, uncover high-value AI use cases, translate those opportunities into well-defined product requirements, and work effectively with business and technology teams to turn those ideas into usable solutions.

The strongest candidates will combine wealth-management domain knowledge, financial advisor technology experience, product ownership skills, and strong business analysis capabilities.
