Summary

Position: Sr Appian Developer
Location: Denver, CO (Onsite Hybrid)
Type: Fulltime

Role Summary
The Senior Appian Developer leads the design, development, and governance of complex Appian BPM and Case Management solutions supporting client's agent onboarding, operations, compliance, and servicing platforms. This role partners deeply with business and technology stakeholders, mentors developers, and ensures scalable, secure, and compliant delivery across enterprise SAFe programs and the Appian Center of Excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership & Enterprise Solution Design
Lead architecture, design, and delivery of highly complex Appian BPM and Case Management solutions
Design endtoend business process models, case flows, SLAs, audit trails, and exception handling
Establish and enforce Appian standards, frameworks, design patterns, and best practices
Review designs and code to ensure performance, scalability, security, and reusability
Drive optimization, refactoring, and modularization of Appian applications

Development & Integration
Design and develop:
Process Models, SAIL UI, Expression & Decision Rules
Records, Reports, Dashboards, and Case components
Lead integration design using REST/SOAP APIs, connectors, and external platforms (CRM, identity, data systems)
Oversee data modeling using CDTs, Data Stores, Records, and enterprise databases (Oracle / DB2 / SQL)
Support release readiness, deployments, production stability, and enhancement planning

Business Partnership & Delivery Governance
Conduct and lead business process analysis and requirement workshops
Translate business needs into technical specifications, system designs, and delivery plans
Prepare documentation including process models, workflows, business rules, and system constraints
Provide technical estimations, solution approaches, and delivery risk mitigation
Mentor and guide intermediate and junior Appian developers
Collaborate with Architects, QA, DevOps, Product Owners, and Operations in multisquad SAFe delivery models
Participate in process improvement and enterprise architecture discussions

Mandatory Skills & Experience
Experience with Appian BPM / lowcode workflow platforms
Strong expertise in:
Appian Process Automation and Case Management
Advanced SAIL UI design
Appian Security (roles, groups, objectlevel security)
Performance tuning and scalability
Extensive experience with REST/SOAP integrations
Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases
Experience operating across full SDLC in Agile / SAFe environments
Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams

Good to Have
Appian Senior / Lead Developer Certification
Experience with insurance or financial services operations
Exposure to:
Appian RPA, AI Skills, IDP
Java plugins or custom smart services
CI/CD pipelines and DevOps integration
Cloud deployment experience (AWS / Azure)
Experience working with legacy BPM systems (AWD)


Supervision & Scope
Operates under enterprise architecture and delivery governance
Provides technical leadership and mentoring
No peoplemanagement ownership, but strong solution and design authority
