Our client seeks a Software Applications Developer I to develop, maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot business-critical applications in a fast-paced enterprise environment. The role collaborates with business users, technical teams, and vendors to maintain applications, build reports and interfaces, support upgrades, and ensure reliable production operations. This opportunity suits a junior to mid-level developer seeking growth in application development, SQL programming, reporting tools, and enterprise application support.
This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Rate: $35.00 to $40.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities: - Develop, enhance, and maintain business applications and system interfaces.
- Support application upgrades, patches, testing, and deployment activities.
- Gather and document business and technical requirements.
- Create and maintain reports and application integrations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application and production issues.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Support application migration and testing initiatives.
- Ensure applications comply with accessibility standards (WCAG/ADA).
- Coordinate with internal teams, end users, and software vendors.
- Assist with change management, configuration, and release activities.
- Provide occasional off-hours support for production incidents when necessary.
Experience Requirements: - 2+ years of application development experience using C#, .NET, and Java or other object-oriented languages.
- 1+ year of hands-on SQL development experience.
- Experience with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or other enterprise platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and environments.
- Preferred: Reporting tools such as Power BI, Crystal Reports, or Cognos.
- Preferred: Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker or Podman.
- Preferred: Experience supporting production business applications and familiarity with accessibility compliance standards (WCAG/ADA).
Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred.
