Summary

Description

We're seeking an experienced Avionics/Aerospace industry QA Test Engineer for our client in Clearwater, FL. Background in aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing to support quality assurance activities across the full product lifecycle will be one of the top requirements.

This role focuses on ensuring that products, processes, and documentation meet demanding industry standards while driving continuous improvement initiatives across engineering, manufacturing, and supplier operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead quality assurance efforts from early design through production, ensuring alignment with relevant regulations and organizational quality requirements.

Serve in a regulatory oversight capacity, supporting compliance activities and acting as an authorized representative for applicable certifications.

Conduct cross-functional investigations, root cause analyses, and improvement initiatives that elevate overall product quality and reliability.

Develop, maintain, and execute quality plans, inspection procedures, testing methodologies, and documentation associated with product verification.

Prepare and manage reports, metrics, and compliance documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and supply chain partners to embed quality principles throughout the product lifecycle.

Support adherence to industry-recognized quality systems such as AS9100, ISO 9001, or equivalent frameworks.

Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, promoting a culture of precision, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Contribute to initiatives focused on reducing defects, improving efficiency, and ensuring manufacturing excellence.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering, technical sciences, or a related field, with 6+ years of experience in quality engineering within aerospace or another regulated industry.

Strong understanding of quality management systems (AS9100, ISO 9001, etc.) and configuration management principles.

Hands-on experience with structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.).

Familiarity with GD& T (per Y14.5 or similar), precision machining practices, and industry standards for joining processes.

Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or above) preferred.

Background supporting manufacturing environments governed by strict regulatory or customer requirements.

Must be eligible to work with ITAR products and data.
