Role Overview
The Project Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of a key project, ensuring the accuracy of budgets and forecasts, time reporting, and adherence to financial reporting standards. This role involves close collaboration with project managers and stakeholders to provide timely financial information and support project goals. This position is crucial for ensuring projects are financially viable and that resources are used efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the financial planning and management of the project, including time recording and valuation, capitalization, and purchase order forecasting and actuals.
- Investigate variances between budgeted and actual costs, providing insights to project managers.
- Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to provide timely financial information.
- Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and cost estimates using Apptio Target Process for project management and oversight.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, particularly related to internally developed technology accounting.
- Review contracts and report on project cost performance as necessary.
Required Qualifications
Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field is required.
Experience: At least three years of experience in project accounting or a related field is preferred.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with project accounting software, with SAP being a requirement. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Apptio One / Target Process is desirable.
- Excellent cross-cultural communication abilities.
- Experience working with distributed or global teams.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role based in the Dallas area, requiring in-office presence at least two days a week (Tuesday and Wednesday), with full-time in-office attendance required during the initial training period. The role involves interaction with a geographically dispersed team and may require flexibility for early morning meetings.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated pay range for this position is $30.00/hr to $42.00/hr. This role is a 6-month contract with the potential for extension.
