GIS Test Lead
Must Have SkillsExperience:
10+ years of experience with software testing and SDLC including experience developing test strategy, leading teams and testing programs.
10+ years of hands-on experience testing GIS applications and geospatial workflows in enterprise environments.
Strong knowledge of and experience with:
Software testing methodologies, test design techniques, defect management, and release validation.
Test strategy, test planning, risk-based testing, regression management, and release readiness assessment.
Manual testing, exploratory testing, integration testing, UAT coordination, and defect governance.
API and database validation, including data integrity, reconciliation, and interface testing.
Test management tools, reporting dashboards, and quality metrics.
Strong GIS platform knowledge:
Including geospatial datasets, maps, services, workflows, utility network model and enterprise integrations.
Experience with Esri technologies such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Field Maps, or related GIS platforms.
Experience with test automation and test automation strategy.
Working knowledge of DevOps, CICD, and environment coordination in modern delivery pipelines.
Experience testing REST APIs, data pipelines, integrations, and database-driven applications used by GIS platforms.
Experience in utility industry (electrical and gas preferred).
Experience supporting cloud modernization, migration, or large-scale platform upgrades.
Experience working with Agile, Scrum, or hybrid delivery models.
Lead the planning, estimation, execution, and reporting of testing activities for GIS applications, services, and related enterprise integrations.
Develop and maintain test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and traceability aligned to business and technical requirements.
Oversee functional, integration, system, regression, user acceptance, data validation, and non-functional testing as required.
Coordinate with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, analysts, architects, and vendors to ensure complete test coverage of GIS workflows and use cases.
Validate GIS data models, map layers, feature services, map services, geospatial processing workflows, and downstreamupstream data exchanges.
Manage defect lifecycle activities including triage, prioritization, root-cause analysis support, retesting, and closure verification.
Mentor test analysts and junior QA team members, promoting best practices in quality engineering and documentation.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate across cross-functional teams to align testing with sprint and release timelines.
Ensure compliance with organizational standards, security requirements, and applicable regulatory or operational controls.
